Marc Ordeix

Coordinator of the Centre for the Study of Mediterranean Rivers (CERM)

With a passion for knowledge and conservation of nature and an undeniable soft spot for fish, I studied biology, specializing in river ecology. I started working with water analysis and control of wastewater treatment plants, complementing it with various naturalistic studies. Over the years I did a PhD on fish migration in Mediterranean rivers. Since 2001, I have coordinated the Center for the Study of Mediterranean Rivers (CERM), associated from its origins with the Ter River Museum (based in Manlleu, Osona, Catalonia) and incorporated since 2016 into the University of Vic-Central University of Catalonia. The CERM focuses its activity on four aspects: research and knowledge transfer, environmental education and scientific dissemination, conservation and ecological restoration of rivers and other aquatic environments, and the deployment of the Ter River Museum as a natural history museum.
